Citing sources close to the negotiations, BoxingScene.com reported that a proposed Jan. 29, HBO televised, junior welterweight (140 pounds) clash between southpaw WBC and IBF king, Devon Alexander, and, WBO counter part, Tim Bradley (pictured above, at left), is in jeopardy over an internal dispute between Bradley and promoter Gary Shaw.
According to BoxingScene.com, Shaw wants Bradley (26-0, 11 knockouts) to extend his present contract beyond its expiration date of May, 2011, while Bradley has refused, preferring, instead, the opportunity to explore other potential options and offers from other promoters.
Alexander (21-0, 13 KOs), meanwhile, already has reached an agreement with his promoter, Don King, to take the fight, as reported by FanHouse and confirmed by Alexander's manager and trainer, Kevin Cunningham.
Neither Shaw, nor Bradley's manager, Cameron Dunkin, could immediately be reached for comment.
