Michael Johnson's comeback KO named UFC on FX 5 Knockout of the Night

After dropping two of his first three fights inside the Octagon it seemed as though UFC lightweight Michael Johnson wouldn’t deliver on the promise he showed en route to the Ultimate Fighter 12 final. However, with a trio of consecutive wins it looks like Johnson may not only live up to the expectations heaped on his shoulders but surpass them altogether.

Johnson’s latest win came last night at UFC on FX 5 where he stopped Danny Castillo with strikes in the second stanza after struggling to find his footing in the first frame. His win was named the show’s Knockout of the Night and earned him an extra $40,000 as result.

Also winning $40,000 bonuses were Bart Palaszewski and Diego Nunes whose bout was awarded Fight of the Night. The two went at it for fifteen full minutes with Nunes eventually emerging with the decision nod.

Last but not least, Justin Edwards’ 45-second victory over Josh Neer turned out to be the evening’s Submission of the Night. He too won $40,000 for the distinction.
