The UFC 153 medical suspensions were released this week and feature a number of notable fighters. Though there is technically no athletic commission in Brazil, the UFC oversees the action under the eyes of an outside regulatory board. A few fighters from the October 13 event ended up with six-month suspensions unless cleared by a doctor.
Perhaps the most relevant, rising light heavyweight star Glover Teixeira may have injured his hand in a win over Fabio Maldonado and will have to get it x-rayed. The win was Teixeira’s second inside the Octagon, coming after doctors decided to stop the lopsided affair and award him the TKO win.

- From his technical knockout loss to Anderson Silva, Stephan Bonnar received a suspension of 30 of days no contact and 45 days of no contest.
- From his knockout loss from Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Dave Herman�received �a suspension of 21 days of no contact and 30 days of no contest.
- From his technical knockout win over Fabio Maldanado, Glover Teixeira received a suspension of 180 days, or until he has his right hand and right elbow x-rayed and examined. In addition, �He faces a 21 days of no contact and 30 days of no contest.�In the same fight, Fabio Maldanado received a suspension of 180 days or until he receives neurological clearance from a physician. He also faces 45 days of no contact and 60 days of no contest for his injuries.
- From his decision loss to Jon Fitch, Erick Silva received a suspension of 21 days of no contact and 30 days of no contest.
- From his technical knockout loss to Rony Mariano Bezerra, Sam Sicilia received a suspension of 30 days of no contact and 45 days of no contest.
- From his decision win over Joey Gambino, Diego Brandao Received a suspension of 21 days of no contact and 30 days of no contest. In the same fight, Joey Gambino received a suspension of 21 days of no contact and 30 days of no contest.
- In his submission win over Renee Forte, Sergio Moraes received a suspension of 180 days or until they do an MRI of his right and have it cleared by a physician. He also faces 30 days of no contact and 45 days no contest.
- In his decision win over Luiz Cane, Chris Camozzi received a suspension of 180 day or until he has a negative x-ray of his nasal bone. He also faces a suspension of 30 days of no contact and 45 days of no contest. �In the same fight, Cane received a suspension of 180 days or until he has his left orbital and nasal bone cleared by a physician. He also faces a suspension of 30 days no contact and 45 days of no contest.
- From his decision win over Reza Madadi, Cristiano Marcello received a suspension of 30 days no contact and �45 days of no contest. In the same fight, Madadi also received a suspension of 30 days no contact and �45 days of no contest.
