Elie Seckbach, the Embedded Correspondent, brings his exclusive video reporting to FanHouse. Check back regularly for more videos.

Brandywine, MD., native and heavyweight contender Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell (pictured at far right) scored two knockdowns in the fifth and final round of his Dec. 11, knockout victory over Taurus "The Bull" Sykes, securing his fifth straight stoppage, and his seventh in his past eight fights on a Golden Boy Promotions card at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.

Not only did Mitchell improve his record to 20-0-1 with his 14th knockout, but he also ran his winning streak to 18 consecutive bouts against the 35-year-old Sykes (25-7-1, seven KOs).

Mitchell-Sykes took place on the under card of an HBO televised main event featuring WBA champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) of England scoring a unanimous decision victory over WBA interim titlist Marcos Rene Maidana (29-2, 27 KOs). In another bout, rising southpaw Victor Ortiz (28-2-2, 22 KOs), of Oxnard, Calif., battled to a 10-round, majority draw with Lamont Peterson (28-1-1, 14 KOs) of Washington, D.C.

On July 31, Mitchell scored a first-round stoppage of Philadelphia southpaw Derek Bryant on the undercard of a main event featuring WBA and WBO lightweight (135 pounds) champion, Juan Manuel Marquez against Juan Diaz at The Mandalay Bay Hotel. Sykes went the 10-round distance in an June, 2007 loss to former world champion Hasim Rahman.

The heavyweight division is ruled by Ukrainian-born, 39-year-old WBC king, Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KOs), his younger brother, 34-year-old WBO IBF and IBO champion, Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs), or 30-year-old WBA titlist David Haye (25-1, 23 KOs), of England.

America has not had a heavyweight titlist in years. In June of 2007, Shannon Briggs was briefly the WBO champion, this, two years after John Ruiz was WBA king in 2005. In 2006, Hasim Rahman and Chris Byrd, respectively, were titlists with the WBC, and, IBF.

FanHouse caught up to Mitchell after the fight, for which he received plenty of compliments from Golden Boy Promotions' President Oscar De La Hoya.
