Where's the respect for the champ? Mauricio Rua has been run over by the Jon Jones hype-train. The 23-year-old Jones has been active the last year and posting big wins on Versus, while Rua was recovering from knee surgery. Jones also has the look of a champion towering over the shorter Rua. The public loves "Bones" and the sportsbooks have installed the challenger as a minus-190 favorite.
Can Rua pull the upset and leave the Octagon with his title? Yahoo!'s lead MMA writer Kevin Iole is in Newark and joined us on the phone to break things down using the Las Vegas lines.
My recommended plays include Rua (+160), Ricardo Almeida (-155) and Anthony Njokuani (+210).
Update: There's heavy action on Faber. He's been bet all the way up to minus-700. Jim Miller has also jumped thirty cents to minus-240. Lots of folks have also wagered on Jones to score a second round finish at 7-to-1.
