Daniel Geale will fight Anthony Mundine for the IBF middleweight title on Wednesday January 30 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. At Tuesday's press conference Mundine dodged questions about retirement plans and accused the IBF and fight judges of favouring Geale.

“I'm gonna beat you boy, the only way I'm going to lose is if they rob me,” said Mundine. “I want all you in the media to score the fight.”

When asked if he would retire if he lost the fight, Mundine said: “I'm not thinking about losing.”

Mundine spent large sections of the press conference talking over a quiet but visibly irritated Geale. When asked if he thought it was time for Mundine to retire, Geale said: “We've been waiting for this fight for a long time and we can't wait. He's getting towards the end now and he knows that.”

Geale, who rolled his eyes when Mundine claimed to be the greatest athlete of all time, also took aim at Mundine's “The Man” persona, saying: “I'm me, I don't have to be anyone else.”

“To be the best, you gotta fight the best. Daniel's done that,” said Geale's co-promoter, Garrie Francisco. “You [Mundine] had the opportunity, so did Daniel – what's the difference? Daniel won.”

According to Francisco, the fight will be broadcast in the United States on a yet to be named television provider.
