Ukrainian-born, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will pursue his 14th straight victory and his 11th stoppage by knockout during that run against unbeaten Englishman Dereck Chisora on Dec. 11 at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany, according to a report by Dan Rafael of ESPN.com.
The 34-year-old Klitschko (55-3, 49 knockouts) is coming off of a Sept. 11, 10th-round technical knockout victory over Nigerian-born former titlist Samuel Peter (34-4, 27 KOs) in a rematch of their September 2005 bout won by Klitschko after having been floored three times.
"I know that Dereck Chisora is a very dangerous opponent. He's young, he's fast and he's a very hard puncher," Klitschko told ESNP.com.
"My coach, Emanuel Steward, has warned me about Chisora's quality and reminded me about the great Muhammad Ali, who lost his championship in 1978 to Leon Spinks in his eighth professional fight," said Klistchko. "I won't underestimate Chisora. I will prepare myself as intensely as I always do and try to give Chisora no chance."
