Southpaw former light heavyweight (175 pounds) world champion Antonio Tarver of Tampa, Fla., who will turn 42 in November, addressed the members of the national media during a Tuesday conference call promoting his Oct. 15 fight against 24-year-old New York-based, Dominican Republican Nagy Aguilera that is slated for the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami.
A Showtime boxing color commentator who will end a 17-month ring absence when he returns against the 6-foot-3 Aguilera (16-4, 11 knockouts), the 6-2 Tarver (27-6, 19 KOs) has lost his last two bouts, respectively, to Chad Dawson by unanimous decision in October of 2008, and, May of 2009.
